Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a question about molly & drew? We've done our best to answer some of the common questions, but if you don't see the answer you're looking for contact us and we'll make sure we can answer it for you.

Is your beer bread safe for kids or those who don’t drink?
YES! The alcohol cooks out so our beer bread is for all to enjoy! Try using soda rather than beer...actually, any carbonated beverage will work.

Can I use different beverages?
Absolutely! Using sodas, flavored water, apple juice, even wine, are all fine but may slightly change the taste/sweetness level of your finished bread. Enjoy!
*if using a non-carbonated drink, expect less rising

What kind of beer is best in my beer bread?
You tell us! Every beer adds a different punch...we would love to hear from you about what you have tried and what your favorites are! We often make American Original with a light beer, but also love it with ale’s, cider beers and lemonade-type beers. Try our Taste of Tuscany with wine and be surprised by the depth of flavor. Be inspired & (click here) to share your favorite creation with us.

Can I add ingredients to the beer bread mix?
Absolutely! On our site you will find recipes that do just that, but toss in your favorites (cheeses, olives, seasonings, bacon…) and see what you can create! Please share your ideas with us.

Do I have to butter the entire loaf?
For the most delicious bread, please do! But if you prefer you may leave it off or use your favorite oil.

How do I store my beer bread?
It is best served at room temperature. After baking and buttering, feel free to leave the bread out on the counter covered with a towel overnight (that’s how we do it!) …this will give you a nice buttery crust! Once cut, store in an airtight container.

How many loaves of bread does each package make?
Each package makes 1 loaf of bread.

Do I bake the bread differently at a high altitude?
Depending on the altitude the bread can take 5-10 minutes longer than the recommended baking time on the package. When in doubt, use the old toothpick trick or to help bake more evenly, bake in a 9x9 pan.

Can I make your dips with fat free or low fat ingredients?
Yes! For the best taste, use regular cream cheese, real mayo, sour cream, etc...but, you may use low-fat to save calories!

How long does a prepared dip mix last?
When sealed and refrigerated you can enjoy your dip mixes and cheese spreads for at least 7-10 days.
